We, at Fairview Millwork and Kitchens, have been longtime proponents of adding interior mouldings to a home to make it look polished and sophisticated. Interior moulding is that material that can instantly elevate a room. With so many to choose from, we looked at some of our customers’ recent home projects and found mouldings that are simple, yet elegant, and can be added to your home today.

Tray Ceiling

You may think that a ceiling is just an ignored wall but you would be wrong. A statement ceiling can give an otherwise average room a wow factor.  Tray ceilings not only add beautiful design, but also give the room a feeling of spaciousness which works very well in large open spaces.

Stair Railing

Why settle for average when your stairs can steal the show? Even if you don’t have an expansive or winding statement staircase, you can help your staircase standout with a beautiful newell post on your railing. This is the beginning post of your railing and can be designed to complement and reflect the rest of the moulding throughout the room or home.  Another option is cable railing.  This is not just for the outdoor deck but can be used in many different options including a steel or wood rail to complement the cables.

Crown Moulding on Cabinets and Built-ins

Crown moulding is a simple trim to start with for those just starting out. We are taking crown moulding to the next level by adding it to the tops of kitchen cabinets and built-ins to bring their height all the way up to the ceiling. This visual trick used by designers brings the eye up and makes even a small space feel much taller.

Shiplap

Shiplap is a great way to use trim when done in moderation. Shiplap or board and batten adds textural interest to an otherwise boring wall and can add dimension to the entire room.

Ready to start using trim in your home? No matter which type you think is right for you, one of our Fairview Millwork and Kitchens representatives is available to help. Come in to see samples, get pricing or order today!
